How to choose a caviar tasting set

The quickest way to learn what you like in caviar is to taste several side by side. Each of our caviar taster sets brings together two or three complementary tins, priced below the cost of buying them separately, so you can compare pearl size, colour and flavour in one sitting. They make a good tasting evening with friends and an easy gift for someone who already enjoys caviar. There are four to choose from. The Beluga Caviar Twin Taster Set pairs Royal Beluga with pure Huso huso Special Reserve at 10% off. The Oscietra Caviar Twin Set: Uruguay v Italy sets Black River Imperial against our Italian Oscietra, the same sturgeon from two very different farms. The Best Sellers Caviar Taster Set holds Royal Beluga, Oscietra and House Selection Siberian, and the Traditional Caviar Taster Set brings together Beluga, Oscietra and Sevruga. Prices start at £81 for the Oscietra twin set in two 30g tins, and £135 for the Beluga pair at the same size. Options are listed per tin, so 3 x 50g means three 50g tins. For two people, 30g tins make a proper tasting, while 125g tins give a group of six to eight a fair share of each caviar. Taste from lightest to richest. In the Best Sellers set that means Siberian, then Oscietra, then Beluga. In the Traditional set, finish with Sevruga so its intensity does not overshadow the others, and in the Beluga pair start with the more delicate Special Reserve. Keep each tin on crushed ice, use a separate mother of pearl spoon for each, and have cold water or plain Champagne to hand to reset the palate.

OrderTaste from the gentlest caviar to the boldest, saving Sevruga or Beluga for last.
SpoonsUse a separate mother of pearl spoon for each tin to keep flavours distinct.
PalateSip cold water or plain Champagne between tins to reset your palate.
SizesEach size refers to one tin, so 3 x 50g means 150g in total.

Contact us
What is a caviar tasting set?

A tasting set is two or three different caviars sold together so you can compare them side by side. Ours are priced below the cost of the individual tins.

Which caviar tasting set should I choose?

For the classic Caspian trio, choose the Traditional set with Beluga, Oscietra and Sevruga. For our most popular caviars, choose Best Sellers, and to compare two styles of one species, pick the Beluga or Oscietra twin set.

How do you host a caviar tasting at home?

Chill the tins, set them on crushed ice and give each its own mother of pearl spoon. Taste from mildest to boldest, with blinis, crème fraîche and Champagne or cold vodka on the side.

Are caviar tasting sets cheaper than single tins?

Yes. The Beluga twin set is 10% less than the two tins bought separately, and our other sets are also priced below the individual tins.

How much caviar do I need for a tasting party?

Allow 15 to 30g of caviar per person in total across all the tins. For six to eight guests, a three-tin set in 125g sizes is about right.
